Vegas Baby by Sandra Edwards
Well, I enjoyed her first book in this series… this book?… not so much.
First let me say, I’m a book reader, not a writer, and I respect the difficulty of writing a book, staying consistent, keeping the readers attention, putting all the pieces together… having said that, I still kind of want a refund of my $3.50 for this kindle book.
Here’s the thing… and maybe when I describe why I didn’t like the book… you will realize that is the exact reason you WOULD like the book. Sex. OK, it’s not just the sex and the pages and pages describing the sex… it’s the lack of character development that surrounds the sex, I feel like more time should have been spent making me believe the sex was as scandalous or even possible… and less time on the escapades. Don’t get me wrong… The book wasn’t filled top to bottom (no pun intended) with sex, but when the author decided it was time… boy oh boy did she decide it was time.
I liked the first book in the series better. The inner turmoil and personal struggles were more believable… although in retrospect… just slightly more so.
And so, I bid Sandra Edwards adieu… I’m not going to waste any more money on Rio Laraquette or her cohorts. Too bad, it was an interesting premise… although, now that I think about it, the “interesting premise” really wasn’t evident much in this book…. Anyway… if you feel differently, please let me know, afterall this book review is my opinion.
