First let me be totally honest with you…  I didn’t read this book, I listened to it!  WAIT!  STOP!  I know, I know, it’s such a 70’s thing to do, and in my defense I will say, I was driving from Florida to NJ with three kids… and well, a book on “tape” (or audible as the case may be) seemed like a great idea.  In the end, it was the best decision I ever made!

My criteria for the book was nothing more than length.  I had about 10 hours of driving ahead of me, and I wanted something for the long haul.  This audible book boasted 15 hours and a provocative title, so I took the chance.  In the end, I still had several chapters to go, when I pulled in my driveway… it is a testament to the book that after I put the kids to bed, I relaxed on the couch to finish up the rest of the story!

In keeping with my no spoiler rule, Here are my impressions:

Not only was the story entertaining but the characters were interesting and some unexpected.   As I said, I didn’t read the book, I listened to it, but I had a sense that it would have been an easy read.  Through out the book I felt like the author had invited me into a story that was not only ongoing, but also going somewhere.

I enjoyed the ending of this book because it wrapped up with the promise of more.  Some books end, like the season ending of your favorite show, (that kind of irks me, because I think it’s unfair to the reader who has invested the time to get somewhere only to be left hanging) but this book?  This book left me completely satisfied and looking forward to more.

I’m trying to get a link to the audible book, as soon as I do, I’ll post it here! ENJOY
