Mouse and the Christmas Cake
This is a children’s poem. It’s not a book.. However, I downloaded to my kindle for my 7 year old daughter. Her monthly project was to read a winter book, then create a diorama with elements of the story.
At this point, my 7 year old does not enjoy reading. She’s an interesting and imaginative child that can play for hours with her littlest pet shop toys imbuing personalities, story lines and conversations… but she has no desire to read. I am constantly looking for different types of books for her.
Alas, this long poem, while not difficult to read, was difficult to follow because many of the rhymes were forced. It probably didn’t help that it was set in a Victorian setting and I suspect, it’s a classic poem that’s been around since then… the end was disappointing and predictable.
No one enjoyed this Story/book/poem.
However… the diorama was kick-butt!
