Anthem – Ayn Rand

Anthem by Ayn Rand

Rating: ★★★★☆

I read this book because it was offered FREE to Kindle owners, and as you know I love to read… so I downloaded a bunch of public domain books and … away I went.

This book is fantastic.

Have you read Atlas Shrugged? I tried. I just couldn’t stick to it… it’s one of the few books that after getting 250 pages in, I bailed. I gave the book to my brother in law, who informed me that at about page 251 the book gets really good. It’s not that I didn’t like Atlas Shrugged, it’s just that I felt like the author kept repeating the same thing over and over again for 250 pages… I got to the point where I started saying outloud… I get it, OK, I get it.

Anthem, is not like that.

It is a fast moving, thoroughly believeable, thought provoking, good read. That forces your mind to work without you even knowing… The book is written in the first person… and yet… there is no first person until the very end.

Ah ha, a riddle for you!

Enjoy…. I did.
